The Better Berry Sour cocktail – with and without alcohol – will generate donations
Berlin, September 19th, 2023 – As a modern Berlin hotel icon, the InterContinental Berlin is committed to its social and environmental responsibilities and to supporting important causes. The hotel, which has not only established itself as one of Europe’s largest business hotels in the market but is also the ideal base for families and individual tourists in the center of Berlin, is celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. In Germany alone, according to estimates by the Robert Koch Institute, approximately 74,000 women and 700 men are diagnosed with breast cancer each year, including an increasing number of younger people.
The hotel draws attention to the important issue with the Better Berry Sour cocktail created especially for this charity month. Red berries have flavonoids, fiber and antioxidants that have positive effects on the human organism. Especially the antioxidants are considered substances that reduce the risk of cell mutations and help destroy harmful free radicals. From each cocktail sold – which is available as an alcoholic and non-alcoholic variant – 1 euro goes to the Breast Cancer Germany Association.
The Better Berry Sour for 14 euros is based on Ketel One Vodka and creates a fruity-fresh moment of enjoyment with Monin Strawberry Syrup, Fee Brothers Cherry Bitter and Lime Juice. In the Better Berry Sour Virgin for 11 euros, the non-alcoholic distillate Seedlip replaces the vodka for a special taste experience.
To be able to make a further contribution, the team of the Hotel InterContinental Berlin has registered for the breast cancer run. From September the 29th to October the 8th 2023 teams all over Germany have the opportunity to run for donations here. The platform “Lauf-weiter” will donate 25 cents to the Breast Cancer Germany Association for every kilometer run. The money collected will be used for research work against breast cancer and for the care of breast cancer patients. Click here to register: https://lauf-weiter.de/brustkrebslauf/
“It’s not much that we as a hotel can do for a good cause,” says General Manager Sebastian Germershausen, “but I’m proud of our team for their inventiveness and commitment to the Breast Cancer Germany Association.” In the future, the InterContinental Berlin will continue to support charity organizations with targeted campaigns.
